Winner Announcement
The 2013 International Nepali Literary Society (INLS) best books winners were announced as follows by the INLS Award
Committee on Sunday, July, 21st 2013 in Woodbridge, Virginia during a grand celebration of the bicentennial of the great Nepali poet Bhanu
Bhakta Acharya . These awards are distributed in every two years. Out of 66 entries in preliminary round, 17 books were awarded on various genres of
literature.
The most notable among the winners was the prize for INLS Best book Award, which was awarded to Seto Dharti, a novel, by Amar
Neupane.
Out of 5 female, and 13 male winners, 6 were from Diaspora and 12 were from Nepal. In categorization of genres, 2 books of Literary Criticism, 4
Epics, 3 Short Stories, 2 Novels, 1 Travelogue, including total 5 Gazals, Ballads, and Folk Dramas bagged the prizes. Among authors of Nepali diaspora, 1
from WashingtonDC, 1 from Houston, Texas, 1 from New Hampshire, 2 from UK and 1 from Portugal were rewarded. Out of 17 awarded books, 6 books were
published by INLS.
